What makes you feel more at home, more special & more loved than something Home Made by some one special?
I am sharing some of my favorite recipes with you here, along with some of my Shabby Lane Friends!
The Holiday's in our home is all about traditions. One of my favorite tradtions is baking cookies with my dearest girlfriend while our 3 children play together. A favorite cookie recipe is an Italian Favorite.
~ Tri Color Cookies ~
1 8 oz Can Almond paste
1 Cup Butter - softened
2 Cups flour
1 Cup Sugar
4 eggs
2 or 3 drops Red Food Color
2 or 3 drops Green Food Color
1/4 Cup Seedless Raspberry Preserve
1/4 Cup Strained Apricot Preserve
1 package Semi-Sweet Chocolate
~ Beat egg WHITES untill stiff, put aside.
~ Break up almond paste into bowl, Add softened butter, sugar & egg Yolks to almond paste.
~ Beat well - Add flour 1 cup at a time, Then fold in egg whites
~ Remove 1 1/2 cups batter for each layer
Put Red in one & Green in another
~ Bake each layer separetly for 10 - 12 minutes until golden brown, let layers cool.
~ Spreed raspberry on green layer & cover with white layer, Spreed apricot on white layer & cover with red layer.
Let set for a day covered. I store in the fridge with something on top to press layers together.
~ Melt chocolate & spreed on top & all sides.
You can add sprinkles or candies while still damp.
Then cut into pieces.
